Seppi river mulchers

The images of the bridge over the Lamone River in Romagna, blocked by tons of logs and branches carried by a flood that caused yet another overflow of water onto the surrounding lands, will remain long in memory. These damages could have been avoided, or at least greatly reduced, with better maintenance of the riverbanks and the vegetation growing on them—tasks that can only be addressed with equipment specifically developed to quickly remove both herbaceous and woody material, even of large size. This is the mission profile targeted by the new equipment presented by Seppi on October 10th during a technical and dynamic workshop attended by selected groups of industry operators and contractors.

Designed to ensure the essential combination of operational efficiency and precision during hydrological maintenance of riverbanks, the machines incorporate Seppi’s latest and most specific design solutions in the medium-power mulching sector.

Working fronts up to 275 centimetres

This is where the new “S7 Dyna” mulchers are positioned, which can be mounted both frontally and rearward. They operate with a working width ranging from 125 to 250 centimeters and can shred bushes and branches up to seven centimeters in diameter, with forward speeds reaching up to 10 kilometers per hour, thanks in particular to the “Helix Rotor” with high peripheral speed. Featuring wide lateral movements, these machines offer easily replaceable components that ensure long machine life, even when frequently used in challenging environments.

These environments are also the natural application field for the “L9 Flex” mulchers, specifically designed for riverbank maintenance activities thanks to a hydraulic side-shift system called “PentaLink.” It integrates two additional stabilizers connected to the tractor’s axle and allows for an additional 107 centimeters of working width extension, covering a range between 175 and 275 centimeters in standard configuration. This results in high versatility, which, combined with tilt angles of 90 degrees upward and 65 degrees downward, allows for precise and safe operations regardless of the slope of the banks or the terrain’s shape.

They chop 20 centimeter logs

The same qualities are found in the equipment designed to outfit excavators weighing between 12 and 21 tons, as seen in the new “E20 Direct” mulching heads. These tools can shred vegetation and bushes up to 20 centimeters in diameter thanks to a next-generation patented rotor that incorporates fixed “Mini Duo” and “Mini Extreme” tools reinforced with tungsten carbide inserts. It pairs with a hydraulic transmission system called “Direct Drive,” partially integrated into the rotor itself, which reduces power loss due to friction by 50%, eliminating wear-prone components such as pulleys and V-belts, thus eliminating the risk of breakdowns and minimizing maintenance downtime.

Finally, the new remote-controlled tool carrier “Max 75 le” is designed for applications that are difficult to access with traditional machinery. Equipped for the occasion with the front mulcher “H5RC 155,” it can operate safely even on slopes of up to 55 degrees.
